There is an annual fee of €15 per student for their own insurance. This extra student coverage used to be optional with our insurers but is now a requirement of their company.
The techniques and skills gained in Li Ching Wu are for self-defence, prevention of harm and fitness. In the case of inappropriate behaviour and misconduct in/ or outside of classes, temporary suspension or permanent termination of membership may result. Eg. fighting, bullying, harassment, threatening behaviour etc. Sifus and club coaches intend to teach for the purpose of self-growth, discipline, and the wellbeing of all. Any signs of the above will be taken seriously.
If the club operates on a term subscription, fees cover the limited duration stated and cannot be transferred to additional class dates unless in the context of contraction of Covid-19 or serious injury.
Please bring a reusable water bottle with a name on it. No sugary food or drinks permitted in classes.
We encourage all students to wear the class uniform (t-shirt and trousers). These can be purchased directly at your club.
Gumshields are essential training equipment. Other equipment including gloves, shin and instep protection, groin guard, and headgear is recommended in that order. Only essential when engaging in sparring.
Some equipment can be provided by the club, but in the recent Covid-19 provisions it is advisable to have your own gloves.
Many thanks, and we look forward to training together.
Media, Photography and Filming Policy:
The following guidelines should be applied in relation to the use of images and footage of Li Ching Wu students/members on websites and in other publications. As there are valid concerns about the risks posed directly and indirectly to children, and young people through the use of media and other publications, all club members need to work together to prevent such risks and harm occurring to young people.
Having photographic and filming guidelines is not about preventing parents/ guardians / coaches from taking pictures and filming. It is to ensure that only those who have the right to do so may record footage, and take necessary caution.
Anyone concerned about photography taking place at events or training sessions can contact the Children’s Officer/Designated Person and ask them to deal with the matter.
Where possible we will try to use models or illustrations when promoting an activity and avoid the use of the individual portraits. However at class gradings images with individual focus may be taken and are available to parents/ featured students on request.
Only images of club members in suitable dress is permitted.
Professional/amateur photographers/video operators wishing to record at an event should seek accreditation with the event organisers.
Spectators attending an event organised by Li Ching Wu Ireland who wish to operate cameras/filming equipment should seek permission with the event organisers.
Videoing as a coaching aid will occasionally take place. Occasionally footage may be used for class productions. Eg. compilations, performance of techniques and forms.
Images and video may be posted on social media, but not excessively.
By agreeing with the above (in the Membership Form) you give consent for you/your child to have your/their photograph taken, be visible in club-related footage and appear in Li Ching Wu-related publishings.
